Hadith 8936

عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مِنْ فِقْهِ الرَّجُلِ رِفْقُهُ فِي مَعِيشَتِهِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is a sign of a man's wisdom that he adopts gentleness, that is, moderation in livelihood.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Allah, the Exalted, while describing the qualities of His servants, said: {وَالَّذِیْنَ اِذَآ اَنْفَقُوْا لَمْ یُسْرِفُوْا وَلَمْ یَقْتُرُوْا وَکَانَ بَیْنَ ذٰلِکَ قَوَامًا۔} … And those who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor miserly, but hold a medium (way) between those (extremes). (Surah Al-Furqan: 67)
