Shaqiq says: We were waiting in the mosque for Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him); he was supposed to come to us. In the meantime, Yazid bin Mu’awiyah Nakh’i came and said: Should I go to him myself and see? If he is at home, then it will be my responsibility to bring him to you. Then Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) came and, standing by us, said: I was remembering your status and rank, but the reason I do not come to you often is that perhaps you might become weary. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to consider our weariness and would dislike causing us to become bored when giving us admonition and advice.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did not deliver sermons every day; rather, in matters of admonition and counsel, he would consider the interest and weariness of the listeners. The reformers and preachers of the present era do not take such wisdom and prudence into account, and then they complain about the public's lack of interest in listening to religious matters.
Although there are differences in circumstances and individuals, nevertheless, preachers should pay attention to the readiness and enthusiasm of the people.
However, the general public should also, like the noble Companions radi Allahu anhum, develop a desire to listen to the teachings of the Qur’an and Hadith, and remain in search of and eager for such lessons.
