Hadith 8928

(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) أَنَّ نَاسًا سَأَلُوا أَزْوَاجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِ فِي السِّرِّ قَالَ فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ ((مَا بَالُ أَقْوَامٍ يَسْأَلُونَ عَمَّا أَصْنَعُ)) فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
(Second chain) Some people asked the Mothers of the Believers about the secret acts of worship of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. Then he, peace and blessings be upon him, praised and glorified Allah Almighty and said: What is the matter with people that they have started asking about those (hidden acts of worship) which I perform, … . Al-Hadith
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In reality, this hadith is a part of the preceding hadith. Asking about the hidden acts of worship of the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is a commendable matter, but if the notion is that the questioner will act more than you sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, then the matter becomes incorrect.
