It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mihjan bin Adra’ (may Allah be pleased with him), he says that he was holding the hand of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the mosque. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went towards the chamber of one of his wives and withdrew his hand from mine and said: Surely, your best religion is that which is easy; surely, your best religion is that which consists of ease; surely, your most virtuous religion is that in which there is the most ease.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … If one looks at all the rulings of the religion of Islam, it will be seen that there is no hardship in any matter. This religion is not only one of ease, but by acting upon it, both body and soul find comfort. The hardships found in previous religions are not present in this religion.
Dear readers! However, this ease will only be acknowledged by the one who is of sound nature and desires to act upon the religion. After all, the secret of success in this world and the Hereafter lies within this very religion. Therefore, it is not like a morsel of sweet pudding that every eater is ready to consume with ease and pleasure.
Understand this through an example: In this transient world, whatever means of livelihood a person has adopted, he considers it easy. To be engaged in business for ten or twelve hours daily, to keep accounts, to report to someone, to listen to someone, for teachers to teach three, four, or even five or six periods, for farmers to work hard, for those working in factories and industries, night shifts, drivers and conductors who remain busy with vehicles day and night… In short, everyone is engrossed in his work with great enthusiasm. Similarly, for those who pray, prayer is easy; for those who perform Hajj, Hajj is easy; for those who fast, fasting is easy; for those who desire to give charity and zakat, this act is easy; for those who strive in jihad, jihad is easy; for cheerful people, being happy is easy… and so on. The person who abandons any religious pillar considering it difficult, in reality, misfortune and corruption have entered his temperament, and Satan has become so dominant over him that the performance of the pillars of Islam has become difficult for him.
