Narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever is accustomed to standing (in prayer) for a portion of the night, and then he sleeps through that standing, the reward of his prayer is still written for him, and his sleep is (considered) a charity from Allah upon him, which is bestowed upon him.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Darda radi Allahu anhu that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Whoever comes to his bed with the intention that he will get up and pray during the night, but sleep overcomes him until morning comes, the reward of what he intended will be written for him, and his sleep will be a charity for him from his Lord.” (Ibn Majah: 244)
This is the grace and kindness of Allah Ta’ala, but it is specifically for the person who happened to fall asleep unintentionally or whose standing (for prayer) was missed due to a legitimate (shar‘i) excuse.
