Abu Salamah bin Abdur Rahman says: I and the foster brother of Lady Aisha (RA) went to Lady Aisha (RA). The foster brother asked her about the bath (ghusl) of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). So she had a vessel brought equal to a sa’ (a measure), performed ghusl, and poured three handfuls of water over her head, while there was a curtain between us and her.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The deniers of hadith have relied on the wording of this narration, in which there is no mention of a veil, to reject hadith, and they have criticized by saying that these are narrations in which Lady Aisha (radi Allahu anha) was performing ritual bath (ghusl) in front of these two men. Whereas the reality of the matter is that Sayyiduna Abu Salamah was the milk-nephew of Lady Aisha (radi Allahu anha); Lady Umm Kulthum bint Abu Bakr (radi Allahu anha) had breastfed Abu Salamah, and the second person was Lady Aisha’s milk-brother, whose name was Abdullah bin Yazid. These two were close relatives (mahram), and there was also a veil (barrier) between them and Lady Aisha (radi Allahu anha).
