(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: Surah Al-Mursalat was revealed to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the night of the snake. We asked: O Abu Abdur Rahman! What is meant by the night of the snake? He said: Once we were with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the cave of Hira, a snake came out from the mountain, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered us to kill it, we chased after it, but it overpowered us. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Now leave it, Allah has saved it from your harm and you from its harm.
