Hadith 8801

عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا يَقُولُ قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ {يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَطَلِّقُوهُنَّ فِي قُبُلِ عِدَّتِهِنَّ} [الطلاق: 1]
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse in this way: {یَا أَ یُّہَا النَّبِیُّ إِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاء َ فَطَلِّقُوہُنَّ فِی قُبُلِ عِدَّتِہِنَّ۔} … O Prophet! When you divorce women, divorce them at the commencement of their waiting period.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The mutawatir recitation of this verse is {فَطَلِّقُوہُنَّ لِعِدَّتِھِنَّ}, and the words of the recitation "fi qubuli ‘iddatihinna" are explaining the interpretation of the mutawatir recitation. Refer to the explanation of this in the issues of divorce.
