Narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that someone said to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that if you yourself go to Abdullah bin Ubayy, (perhaps there will be some benefit in it), so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) rode a donkey and went to him, and the Muslims were also walking with you (peace and blessings be upon him). The ground was salty, and dust rose as you (peace and blessings be upon him) walked. When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reached that person, he said: Stay away, by Allah! I am troubled by the smell of your donkey. An Ansari man said: By Allah! The donkey of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is more fragrant than you. Then, one of Abdullah’s supporters became agitated, and on the other side, the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) became passionate in his support. The supporters of both sides got into a scuffle, using tree branches, fists, and shoes. We have received that this verse was revealed about them: {وَإِنْ طَائِفَتَانِ مِنْ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ اقْتَتَلُوْا فَأَ صْلِحُوْا بَیْنَہُمَا} … And if two groups of the believers fight each other, make peace between them.
