Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When Allah Almighty created the creation, the bond of kinship clung to the back of the Most Merciful and said to Allah Almighty: This is the place of one seeking refuge from severing ties of kinship. Allah Almighty said: Are you not pleased that I will join the one who joins you, and I will cut off the one who cuts you off? If you wish, recite these verses: {فَہَلْعَسَیْتُمْإِنْتَوَلَّیْتُمْأَنْتُفْسِدُوْافِیالْأَرْضِوَتُقَطِّعُوْاأَرْحَامَکُمْ،أُولَئِکَالَّذِینَلَعَنَہُمُاللّٰہُفَأَصَمَّہُمْوَأَعْمٰیأَبْصَارَہُمْ،أَفَلَایَتَدَبَّرُونَالْقُرْآنَأَمْعَلٰیقُلُوبٍأَقْفَالُہَا} … Then would you perhaps, if you became rulers, cause corruption in the land and sever your ties of kinship? Those are the ones whom Allah has cursed; so He deafened them and blinded their eyes. Do they not then reflect upon the Qur’an, or are there locks upon their hearts?
