It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding this verse: {ثُمَّأَوْرَثْنَاالْکِتَابَالَّذِینَاصْطَفَیْنَامِنْعِبَادِنَافَمِنْہُمْظَالِمٌلِنَفْسِہِوَمِنْہُمْمُقْتَصِدٌوَمِنْہُمْسَابِقٌبِالْخَیْرَاتِبِإِذْنِاللّٰہِ} … Then We made those whom We chose from among Our servants the inheritors of the Book; then among them is he who wrongs himself, and among them is he who is moderate, and among them is he who, by Allah’s permission, is foremost in good deeds. That is the great bounty. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said that (regarding those mentioned in this verse) the rank of all these people is the same and all will enter Paradise.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In this verse, three categories of the Ummah of Muhammad are mentioned: (1) Those people who show negligence in some obligations (fara’id) and commit some prohibitions (muharramat). (2) By this category are meant those who are adherent to the obligations and abstain from the prohibitions, but sometimes they abandon recommended acts (mustahabbat), and sometimes they may also commit some prohibitions; thus, they are righteous, but not at the forefront. (3) Those people who surpass the individuals of the first two categories in matters of religion.
