It is narrated from Abu Thabit that a man entered the mosque of Damascus and made this supplication: O my Allah! Change my loneliness into intimacy, make my poverty a source of mercy, and grant me a beloved and righteous companion. Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) heard these words of his and said: If you are truthful, then I am more fortunate for your supplication. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: By {فَمِنْہُمْظَالِمٌلِنَفْسِہِ} is meant the oppressor, who will be seized in the field of resurrection and will be afflicted with grief and distress; by {وَمِنْہُمْمُقْتَصِدٌ} is meant the person whose reckoning will be easy; and {وَمِنْہُمْسَابِقٌبِالْخَیْرَاتِ} are those who will enter Paradise without reckoning.
