It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding this verse {یٰٓاَیُّہَا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تَکُوْنُوْا کَالَّذِیْنَ اٰذَوْا مُوْسٰی فَبَرَّاَہُ اللّٰہُ مِمَّا قَالُوْا} "O you who have believed, do not be like those who abused Musa (Moses), but Allah cleared him of what they said." that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Musa (Moses), peace be upon him, was extremely modest and very much concealed himself, and due to this modesty, it was almost impossible for any part of his body to be seen. Some people from among the Children of Israel caused him distress and said that Musa, peace be upon him, conceals himself in this manner because he has some skin disease or his private parts are swollen, and Allah Almighty wanted to clear him of what the Children of Israel said. It happened that one day Musa, peace be upon him, went into seclusion and placed his clothes on a stone to bathe. When he finished bathing and went to take his clothes, the stone ran away with his clothes. Musa, peace be upon him, picked up his staff and went after the stone to catch it, saying, "O stone! My clothes (give them back), O stone! My clothes (give them back)," until he reached a group of the Children of Israel, and they saw that Musa was indeed a very handsome man. In this way, Allah Almighty cleared Musa, peace be upon him, of what they had said. The stone stopped. Musa, peace be upon him, took his clothes and began to strike the stone with his staff. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: By Allah! Due to Musa, peace be upon him, striking the stone with his staff, three or four or five marks appeared on it.
