It is narrated from Ziyad Ansari, he says: I said to Sayyiduna Ubayy ibn Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him): If, hypothetically, all the wives of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had passed away, would it still not have been lawful for you (peace and blessings be upon him) to marry? He said: When was marriage ever made unlawful for him? I said: From the statement of Allah Almighty { لَا یَحِلُّ لَکَ النِّسَاءُ مِنْ بَعْدُ}. He said: A certain type of women were lawful for the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
