بَابُ: «إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ البيت»Chapter: "Indeed, Allah intends only to remove from you the impurity, O people of the [Prophet's] household"

عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ لَمَّا أُمِرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِتَخْيِيرِ أَزْوَاجِهِ بَدَأَ بِي فَقَالَ يَا عَائِشَةُ إِنِّي أَذْكُرُ لَكِ أَمْرًا وَلَا عَلَيْكِ أَنْ لَا تَسْتَعْجِلِي حَتَّى تُذَاكِرِي أَبَوَيْكِ قَالَتْ وَقَدْ عَلِمَ أَنَّ أَبَوَيَّ لَمْ يَكُونَا لِيَأْمُرَانِي بِفِرَاقِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَقُولُ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ قُلْ لِأَزْوَاجِكَ إِنْ كُنْتُنَّ تُرِدْنَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتَهَا حَتَّى بَلَغَ أَعَدَّ لِلْمُحْسِنَاتِ مِنْكُنَّ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا [سورة الأحزاب: ٢٨-٢٩] فَقُلْتُ فِي أَيِّ هَذَا أَسْتَأْمِرُ أَبَوَيَّ فَإِنِّي قَدِ اخْتَرْتُ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَالدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ قَالَتْ ثُمَّ فَعَلَ أَزْوَاجُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا فَعَلْتُ وَفِي لَفْظٍ فَقُلْتُ قَدِ اخْتَرْتُ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ قَالَتْ فَرِحَ لِذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was commanded to give his wives the choice, he (peace and blessings be upon him) first said to me: O Aisha! I am going to present a matter to you, do not be hasty in answering it without consulting your parents. Although he (peace and blessings be upon him) knew that my parents would not command me to separate from him (peace and blessings be upon him), then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah the Exalted has said: {یٰٓاَیُّہَا النَّبِیُّ قُلْ لِّاَزْوَاجِکَ اِنْ کُنْتُنَّ تُرِدْنَ الْحَیٰوۃَ الدُّنْیَا وَزِیْنَتَہَا فَتَعَالَیْنَ اُمَتِّعْکُنَّ وَاُسَرِّحْکُنَّ سَرَاحًا جَمِیْلًا۔ وَاِنْ کُنْتُنَّ تُرِدْنَ اللّٰہَ وَرَسُوْلَہ وَالدَّارَ الْاٰخِرَۃَ فَاِنَّ اللّٰہَ اَعَدَّ لِلْمُحْسِنٰتِ مِنْکُنَّ اَجْرًا عَظِیْمًا۔} … O Prophet! Say to your wives: If you desire the life of this world and its adornment, then come, I will provide for you and release you in a gracious manner. But if you desire Allah and His Messenger and the home of the Hereafter, then surely Allah has prepared a great reward for those of you who do good. I said: Should I consult my parents about this? I have chosen Allah, His Messenger, and the home of the Hereafter. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was pleased with this.
