It is narrated from ‘Abad bin ‘Abdullah bin Zubair that Harith bin Khuzmah brought these last two verses of Surah At-Tawbah to Sayyiduna ‘Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him). He said: Who is a witness with you for these? He replied: By Allah! I do not know, but I bear witness that I heard these verses from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and I memorized them. Sayyiduna ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I also bear witness that I heard them from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). If these were three verses, I would have made them a separate surah. Now you see which surah is most suitable for these verses, so write them in it. So I wrote them at the end of Surah At-Tawbah.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … These are two verses: {لَقَدْجَاءَکُمْرَسُوْلٌمِّنْاَنْفُسِکُمْعَزِیْزٌعَلَیْہِمَاعَنِتُّمْحَرِیْصٌعَلَیْکُمْبِالْمُؤْمِنِیْنَرَءُوْفٌرَّحِیْمٌ۔فَاِنْتَوَلَّوْافَقُلْحَسْبِیَاللّٰہُلَآاِلٰہَاِلَّاھُوَعَلَیْہِتَوَکَّلْتُوَھُوَرَبُّالْعَرْشِالْعَظِیْمِ۔} (Surah At-Tawbah: 128, 129)
Undoubtedly, there has come to you a Messenger from among yourselves; it is very hard on him that you should suffer, he is full of concern for you, and is kind and merciful to the believers. But if they turn away, then say: Allah is sufficient for me; there is no deity except Him. In Him I have placed my trust, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.
Allah Almighty is reminding the Muslims of His great favor, that by His grace and mercy He sent to them, from among themselves and in their own language, His Messenger. Moreover, he is so tender-hearted that he trembles at the hardships of the Ummah. He has brought a religion of ease, gentleness, and simplicity, which is very easy, simple, perfect, and superior and excellent. He desires your guidance.
