(Second chain) A similar narration is from Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, except that in it is: By this is meant the companions of the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who migrated towards Madinah Munawwarah.
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the statement of Allah Almighty: {کُنْتُمْخَیْرَاُمَّۃٍاُخْرِجَتْلِلنَّاسِ} … "You are the best nation brought forth for mankind." refers to those people who migrated from Makkah Mukarramah to Madinah Munawwarah with the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Allamah Sindhi said: The intention of Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas radi Allahu anhuma is that in this verse, the address is not directed to all the Companions, but rather to the Muhajirun (Emigrants), let alone considering the entire Ummah as its addressee. The reason for this is that an address necessitates the presence of those being addressed; therefore, it does not include the entire Ummah. Another reason is that it was only the Muhajirun who were expelled from their homes. And Allah the Exalted knows best. In any case, your (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) Ummah is the best and most beneficial to mankind. The statement of Allah the Exalted is: {کُنْتُمْخَیْرَاُمَّۃٍاُخْرِجَتْلِلنَّاسِتَاْمُرُوْنَبِالْمَعْرُوْفِوَتَنْہَوْنَعَنِالْمُنْکَرِوَتُؤْمِنُوْنَبِاللّٰہِ} … You are the best nation brought forth for mankind; you enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah. (Surah Al Imran: 110)
