It is narrated from Sayyiduna Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I was sitting with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I heard him say: Learn Surah Al-Baqarah, acquiring its knowledge is a source of blessing and abandoning it is a cause of regret, and the followers of falsehood cannot overcome it. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) paused for a while and then said: Learn Surah Al-Baqarah and Surah Aal-e-Imran, these two are radiant and beautiful Surahs, on the Day of Resurrection they will cover their reciters as if they are two clouds or two things providing shade or two flocks of birds with outspread wings. And indeed, the Qur’an will come to the reciter on the Day of Resurrection when his grave is split open, it will appear like a weak and pale-colored man and will say to the servant: Do you recognize me? He will say: I do not recognize you. The Qur’an will again say: Do you recognize me? He will say: I do not recognize you. It will say: I am your companion, the Qur’an, who kept you thirsty at noon and kept you awake at night. Today, every trader is behind his trade (i.e., every trader hopes to gain profit from his trade), and today you are above every trade (i.e., today you will gain more benefit than any trade). Then he will be given sovereignty in his right hand and eternity in his left hand, a crown of dignity will be placed on his head, and his parents will be dressed in two fine garments, so valuable that the world and all it contains cannot match their value. They will say: O our Lord! Why have these garments been given to us? It will be said to them: Because your son recited the Qur’an. Then it will be said to him: Keep reciting and keep ascending the ranks of Paradise. He will continue to ascend the lofty chambers of Paradise as long as he keeps reciting, whether he recites quickly or slowly.
