Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Recite and learn the Qur’an, for it will intercede for its reciters on the Day of Resurrection. And recite the two radiant Surahs, i.e., Surah al-Baqarah and Surah Aal-e-Imran, for on the Day of Resurrection they will come like two clouds or two shades, or like two flocks of birds spreading their wings, and they will defend their reciters. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Recite Surah al-Baqarah, for acquiring it is a blessing and abandoning it is a cause of regret, and magicians cannot overpower it.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The reason magicians are called "batala" is that all of their actions are falsehood. The meaning of "not being able to withstand Surah al-Baqarah" is that the magician cannot perform his act upon the person who recites Surah al-Baqarah.
