Sayyiduna Sulaiman bin Surad narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard two men who were arguing with each other, one of them became angry and extremely enraged and began to abuse his companion. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I know a word, if he says it, his devil will go away from him. Hearing this, a man came to him and said: Say this word: A‘udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajim (I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed devil), but he replied: Do you think I am mad?

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In Sahih Bukhari, instead of the words "hal tara ba’san," the wording is "hal tara bi junūnin." It is possible that this man was from the rough-natured Bedouins, or that he had not yet benefited from the understanding of religion and the lights and blessings of the pure Shari‘ah, and it is also possible that he was a hypocrite. It is understood from this that to remove the effects of anger, one should recite "a‘ūdhu billāhi min ash-shayṭān ir-rajīm" (I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Satan).
