بابُ وَقْتِ نُزُولِ الْقُرْآنِ وَغَيْرِهِ مِنَ الْكُتُبِ لسَّمَاوِيَّةِ وَخَوْفِ الصَّحَابَةِ مِنْ نُزُولِ الْقُرْآنِ فِيْهِمْChapter on the Time of the Revelation of the Qur’an and Other Heavenly Books and the Companions’ Fear of the Qur’an Being Revealed About Them
Hadith 8432

عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ كُنَّا نَتَّقِي كَثِيرًا مِنَ الْكَلَامِ وَالِانْبِسَاطِ إِلَى نِسَائِنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ فِينَا الْقُرْآنُ فَلَمَّا مَاتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَكَلَّمْنَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, who says: In the blessed era of the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, we used to avoid talking too much with our wives and laughing openly, out of fear that the Holy Qur'an might be revealed about us. When the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, passed away, then we began to speak openly.
