Falfala Jafi says: I was also among those who became anxious, who were troubled about the Qur'an, so we went to Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), and one of us said: We have not come just to meet, our purpose is that this news has greatly frightened us that (the Qur'an should be recited in the language of the Quraysh and other copies have been burned). He said: The Noble Qur'an was revealed to your Prophet in seven modes of recitation, whereas the previous books before you (Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him) were revealed in only one mode of recitation.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Due to the differences that arose from the various recitations (qira'at) of the Noble Qur'an, Sayyiduna Uthman radi Allahu anhu proposed the solution that the recitation of the Quraysh be preserved and the existence of the other recitations be eliminated. This was a commendable decision by the Caliph of the Messenger (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), and the noble Companions (Sahabah) agreed with him. However, the opinion of Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Mas'ud radi Allahu anhu differed from theirs, and he did not agree with this decision.
