بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي الْوَعِيدِ الشَّدِيدِ لِمَنْ نَسِيَ الْقُرْآنَ أوْ بَعْضَهُ بَعْدَ حِفْظِهِ أَوْ نَرَى بِقَرَاء تِهِ أَوْ نَاكُلَ بِه أَولَمْ يَعْمَلْ بِمَا فِيهِChapter on What Has Been Reported Regarding the Severe Threat for One Who Forgets the Qur’an or Part of It After Memorizing, or Shows Off with Its Recitation, or Eats with It, or Does Not Act Upon It
Hadith 8399

عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَكْثَرُ مُنَافِقِي أُمَّتِي قُرَّاؤُهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Most of the hypocrites of my Ummah will be among the reciters (Qurra).
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Do not fall into excess: Do not go beyond it in terms of words and meaning, that is, neither exert undue hardship in its recitation nor make false interpretations of it. Do not become hard-hearted: Do not distance yourself from its recitation. The meaning of these two phrases is that you should understand the rights of the Noble Qur’an, avoid excess and negligence in its regard, and adopt moderation.
