عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ غَرِيضًا كَذَا قَالَ كَمَا أُنْزِلَ فَلْيَقْرَأْهُ عَلَى قِرَاءَةِ ابْنِ أُمِّ عَبْدٍ
Syedna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever wants to recite the Qur'an fresh as it was revealed, then he should recite according to the recitation of Ibn Umm Abd, that is, Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him).
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The reason for considering the recitation of Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud radi Allahu anhu as fresh and lively has been explained in Hadith number (8449).
