It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jundub bin Sufyan Bajali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Recite the Holy Qur’an as long as your hearts remain inclined (with reflection and eagerness), and when you feel weariness and boredom, then stand up (and stop reciting).

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … That is, as long as the heart remains attentive towards the Noble Qur’an and is wholly engaged in its recitation.

Recitation of the Noble Qur’an is the occupation of righteous people. In this chapter, the maximum limit for recitation has been prescribed; in any case, one should complete the recitation of the entire Noble Qur’an at least once every thirty to forty days, and at most within three days. While reciting, one should pay full attention to the words with eagerness and desire. In case of weariness or boredom, one should stop the recitation.
