It is narrated from Ibn Abi Mulaykah that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about by one of his wives—I think she was Sayyida Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her)—regarding the recitation of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). She said: "You do not have the strength for that manner of recitation." Then she said that he (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite slowly and distinctly: {اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰہِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِینَ۔ اَلرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیمِ}.
