Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever does not recite the Holy Qur’an melodiously is not from us. The narrator Waki’ explained its meaning: He becomes independent of people through it.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … A hidden charity is superior, because there is no suspicion of showing off (riya) in it. However, if there is no suspicion of showing off and the intention is to advise someone, then giving charity openly is also permissible. The same ruling applies to the recitation of the Noble Qur’an.
