عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ نَقْرَأُ فِينَا الْعَرَبِيُّ وَالْعَجَمِيُّ وَالْأَسْوَدُ وَالْأَبْيَضُ إِذْ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَنْتُمْ فِي خَيْرٍ تَقْرَءُونَ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَفِيكُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَسَيَأْتِي عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ يَثْقَفُونَهُ كَمَا يَثْقَفُونَ الْقَدَحَ يَتَعَجَّلُونَ أُجُورَهُمْ وَلَا يَتَأَجَّلُونَهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: Once we were reciting the Holy Qur'an, among us were Arabs, non-Arabs, those of black complexion, and those of white complexion. Suddenly, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us and said: You are upon goodness, you are reciting the Book of Allah, while the Messenger of Allah is among you. Soon a time will come when people will exaggerate in reciting this Book beautifully, just as an arrow is straightened with great attention, but they will hasten to receive its reward (in this world) and will not defer it until the Hereafter.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … That is, great care will be taken in the pronunciation of the words of the Noble Qur’an and their articulation points; it will be recited in a melodious and sweet voice, with much modulation and variation. However, the objective will be to please people and thereby extract wealth and riches from them. In the present era, such people have made the Noble Qur’an into a profession. Whether in private or in public, the Noble Qur’an appears to have no effect on their being.
