عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَوْ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا شَكَّ الْأَعْمَشُ قَالَ يُقَالُ لِصَاحِبِ الْقُرْآنِ اقْرَأْ وَارْقَهْ فَإِنَّ مَنْزِلَتَكَ عِنْدَ آخِرِ آيَةٍ تَقْرَؤُهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) or Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that it will be said to the companion of the Qur’an: Recite and ascend, and wherever you recite your last verse, that will be your station. Imam A‘mash had doubt regarding the name of the narrator of the hadith.
