Hadith 8333

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَوْ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا شَكَّ الْأَعْمَشُ قَالَ يُقَالُ لِصَاحِبِ الْقُرْآنِ اقْرَأْ وَارْقَهْ فَإِنَّ مَنْزِلَتَكَ عِنْدَ آخِرِ آيَةٍ تَقْرَؤُهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) or Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that it will be said to the companion of the Qur’an: Recite and ascend, and wherever you recite your last verse, that will be your station. Imam A‘mash had doubt regarding the name of the narrator of the hadith.

Benefits: … It is understood from this that the number of verses in the Noble Qur’an is equal to the ranks in Paradise; whoever has memorized as many verses will be granted that many ranks.
