Hadith 8326

عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَرْفَعُ بِهَذَا الْكِتَابِ أَقْوَامًا وَيَضَعُ بِهِ آخَرِينَ
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty elevates some nations through this Book and humiliates others through it.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The elevation of the Muslims depends upon the Noble Qur’an; the reason for the Muslims’ rise was their adherence to the system of the Noble Qur’an. From the time the Muslim Ummah became heedless of this great Book, they have faced humiliation. In the words of Allama Iqbal:
“They were honored in the world by being Muslims;
You became disgraced by abandoning the Qur’an.”
“They were honored in the world by being Muslims;
You became disgraced by abandoning the Qur’an.”
