Hadith 8313

Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to take the pledge of allegiance from women only verbally, and he would take the pledge on this verse that women will not associate anything with Allah... The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) never touched the hand of any woman, except for the woman whom he (peace and blessings be upon him) owned.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Since it is forbidden to touch a non-mahram woman, therefore the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, at the time of taking the pledge of allegiance (bay‘ah) from women, would not place his hand upon their hands, rather he would take the pledge verbally.
