Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Musa says: Mudrik sent me to Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) so that I could ask her about some matters. When I came to her, she was performing the Duha prayer. I sat down so that she could finish her prayer. She said: You have taken a long time. So I asked the one who grants permission: How should I seek permission from her? He said: You should say like this: O Prophet, peace be upon you, and the mercy and blessings of Allah. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. Peace be upon the Mothers of the Believers or the Wives of the Messenger. Peace be upon you. Then I went to Sayyidah. The complete hadith is coming in Fatawa Aisha.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … These ahadith establish that when going to someone’s house, one should both offer salam and seek permission. The correct method is that first one should say “as-salamu alaykum,” then state one’s name, and then say, “May I have permission to enter?” If permission is granted, then enter; if permission is not granted, then return.
