Abu Salih narrates that Sayyiduna Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) sought permission to meet Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her). She granted permission, but Sayyiduna Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: "Is Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) also here?" The people replied: "No, he is not." So Sayyiduna Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) went back. Then he again sought permission and asked: "Is Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) present?" Someone said: "Yes, he is." Then he came, and Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) asked him: "Why did you hesitate when I was not present?" He replied: "The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade visiting those women whose husbands are not at home."
