Hadith 8289

Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever uncovers the curtain and looks into someone’s house without permission, he has committed a crime equivalent to the legal limit; it was not lawful for him to do so. And if someone were to gouge out his eye, then his eye would be wasted and without compensation. If a person passes by a door that has no curtain and sees something private in the house, he will not be blamed for the mistake; rather, in such a case, the mistake will be attributed to the people of the house.
