(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا جَاءَ الْبَابَ يَسْتَأْذِنُ لَمْ يَسْتَقْبِلْهُ يَقُولُ يَمْشِي مَعَ الْحَائِطِ حَتَّى يَسْتَأْذِنَ فَيُؤْذَنَ لَهُ أَوْ يَنْصَرِفَ
(Second chain) When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the door of someone's house to seek permission, he would not stand facing the door; rather, he would walk along the wall until he had sought permission or else he would return.
