Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Jews came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "Death be upon you." The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) also replied with the same words, saying: "Death be upon you." But Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "O brothers of apes and swine! May death and destruction befall you, and may the curse and wrath of Allah descend upon you." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Aisha! Stop." She said: "O Messenger of Allah! Did you not hear what they said?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Aisha! Did you not hear what I replied to them? Gentleness, wherever it is found, adorns it, and wherever gentleness is removed from something, it makes it defective." In another narration, it is stated: "Indeed, Allah loves gentleness in every matter."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Esteemed readers! Reflect that when the Jews, instead of invoking peace for the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, were supplicating for his destruction and death, even at that time the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did not approve of obscene or abusive language in response to them. From this, we should assess the manner of our own speech.
