Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I, Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b, and Sayyiduna Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with them) were sitting together. We ate food consisting of meat and bread. Then I (Anas) called for water to perform ablution. Both of them said to me: Why do you want to perform ablution? I said: Because of the food we have eaten. They said: Do you perform ablution because of eating pure things? That person, who is better than you, did not perform ablution after eating such food.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The matter of performing or not performing ablution (wudu) was not related to things that are pure. In the beginning, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to perform ablution after eating things cooked on fire, but later the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam abandoned this practice.
