عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ اخْتَتَنَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ خَلِيلُ الرَّحْمَنِ بَعْدَمَا أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ ثَمَانُونَ سَنَةً وَاخْتَتَنَ بِالْقَدُومِ
Syedna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Ibrahim Khalil-ur-Rahman (peace be upon him) performed circumcision at the age of eighty (80) years, and he performed circumcision with an adze.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It is better that circumcision (khitan) be performed at a young age. If, due to some excuse or lack of knowledge, or due to disbelief (kufr) and the like, circumcision could not be performed, then later, whenever and however it becomes possible, circumcision should be performed.
