وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الْجَرَسُ مِزْمَارُ الشَّيْطَانِ
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The bell is the flute of Satan.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The Shari‘ah has shown such strictness only regarding bells and ankle-bells; looking at these ahadith, one should examine one’s own life. Especially, the issue of electronic media is extremely worthy of consideration. If the rulings of the Shari‘ah are observed, then even listening to and watching the news bulletin itself becomes an issue: what of immodesty, indeed the semi-nakedness of women, what of musical instruments, what of frivolity and amusement, what of romantic songs between men and women, what of the extreme indecency of video films during journeys. If only we would become concerned about the matters of the Hereafter.
