It is narrated from Mujahid that the freed slave of Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) related to her, and he said: I used to drive the mount of Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). Whenever she heard the sound of a bell or anklet in front of her, she would say: Stop. So I would remain stopped until the sound ceased. And if she heard the sound of a bell from behind her, she would say: Move quickly until this sound is no longer heard. Sayyida Aisha used to state that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Behind the sound (of bells and the like) is a devil.
