عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَكَلَتْنَا الضَّبُعُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَيْرُ الضَّبُعِ عِنْدِي أَخْوَفُ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنَ الضَّبُعِ إِنَّ الدُّنْيَا سَتُصَبُّ عَلَيْكُمْ صَبًّا فَيَا لَيْتَ أُمَّتِي لَا تَلْبَسُ الذَّهَبَ
Zaid bin Wahb narrates from a man that a Bedouin came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Drought has destroyed us. The Messenger (peace be upon him) said: There is something other than this drought about which I fear for you even more, and that is that the world will be opened up for you. I wish my Ummah would not wear gold.
