Hadith 7987

Hammad bin Salamah says: I saw Ibn Abi Rafi’ wearing a ring on his right hand. When I asked him about it, he said: I saw Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Ja’far (may Allah be pleased with him) wearing a ring on his right hand, and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Ja’far (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to wear a ring on his right hand.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In some narrations, wearing a ring on the left hand is also mentioned; therefore, wearing it on the left hand is also permissible. However, preference is given to the right hand, because this is found in most narrations, and the right hand is also more appropriate for adornment.
