Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The hadith of Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib radi Allahu anhu is as follows: The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was asked about performing ablution (wudu) after eating camel meat. He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: Perform ablution after it. Then he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was asked about praying in camel enclosures. He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: ((Do not pray in them, for indeed they are from among the devils.)) … Do not pray in them, because they are from the devils. Then he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was asked about praying in sheep enclosures. He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: Pray in them, for indeed these animals are a source of blessing.
It is understood from this that the reason for not praying in camel enclosures is that there is a certain devilishness in their temperament, and because of this, they may harm the one who is praying. The urine, droppings, and dung of animals whose meat is lawful to eat (ma’kul al-lahm) are pure. One evidence for this is also mentioned in these ahadith: the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam permitted praying in sheep enclosures, even though every part of these enclosures is affected by urine and droppings. This issue has already been discussed in the commentary of hadith number (453).
