Hadith 7945

عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ثَلَاثَةٍ نَهَانِي عَنِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَالْمِيثَرَةِ وَأَنْ أَقْرَأَ وَأَنَا رَاكِعٌ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) forbade me from three things: from wearing silk clothing, from silk cushions, and from reciting the Noble Qur’an during bowing (ruku’).
Brief Explanation
Benefits: ... Qis is a town in Egypt, and the silk garments that were produced there were called qissi. What is meant here is silk clothing, regardless of where it is made.
