Abu Sheikh Hanai says: I went to Sayyiduna Amir Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), while a group of the noble Companions was present with him. Sayyiduna Amir Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I ask you by Allah, do you know that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade wearing silk? They said: Yes. He said: I also bear witness. Then he said: I ask you by Allah, do you know that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade wearing gold, except that a little may be used? The Companions said: Yes. He said: I also bear witness. Then he said: I ask you by Allah, do you know that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade spreading the skins of leopards? The Companions said: Yes. He said: I also bear witness. Then he said: I ask you by Allah, do you know that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade drinking water from silver vessels? They said: Yes. He said: I also bear witness. Then he said: I ask you by Allah, do you know that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade combining Hajj and Umrah? The Companions said: No, there is no such thing. But he said: Beware, this is also among them.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … A small amount of gold—the Arabic word "muqatta‘" is used, meaning it should be little and in separate places. For example: in the form of engravings or decorations on the hilt of a sword, or in the form of dots; gold should not be plated over the entire hilt. Similarly, there may be marks of gold on a silver ring.
