Hadith 7915

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you puts on shoes, he should begin with the right side, and when he takes them off, he should begin with the left foot, and walk wearing both shoes. In another narration it is stated: When the strap of one shoe breaks, a person should not walk with one shoe, rather he should take off both shoes, or wear both.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Shaykh al-Albani rahimahullah said: In this hadith, the etiquettes of wearing shoes are mentioned; when putting them on, the right foot should be given precedence, while when taking them off, one should start with the left foot. In the present era, Muslims have become heedless of such Sunnahs. There are two reasons for this: first, the dominance of ignorance, and second, the lack of people who provide Islamic upbringing. In addition to this, there are also, in their own estimation, such callers to Islam present, who think that these etiquettes are inferior and insignificant.
