It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Islam is founded upon five things: bearing witness that Allah alone is the true deity, establishing prayer, giving zakat, performing Hajj of the House of Allah, and fasting in Ramadan.”
