Hadith 79

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Islam is founded upon five things: bearing witness that Allah alone is the true deity, establishing prayer, giving zakat, performing Hajj of the House of Allah, and fasting in Ramadan.”

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The text of this hadith is well-known and almost everyone, both the elite and the common people, has memorized it. If only we would also develop a practical inclination, and by establishing these five pillars of Islam, we would bring the shade of Islam’s roof over our heads.
