Hadith 7899

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Ibn Hanzaliyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You are going to your brothers, so set right your mounts and your clothes, for surely Allah Almighty dislikes foul speech and obscene language."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … When meeting other people, one should adopt a good appearance, just as Sayyiduna Umar radi Allahu anhu had said to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that he should purchase such-and-such silk garment to wear on Fridays and when meeting various delegations. In response, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam rejected it due to it being silk, but did not reject the intention of Sayyiduna Umar radi Allahu anhu.
