Urwah bin Zubair says: When Marwan was the ruler of Madinah Munawwarah, during that time he mentioned that when a man touches his private part, he should perform ablution. But I rejected his statement and said that there is no ablution upon the one who touches the private part. Marwan said: Lady Busrah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated to me that she heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioning the nullifiers of ablution, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) also said: Ablution should be performed after touching the private part. But my argument with Marwan continued, until he called one of his guards and sent him to Lady Busrah (may Allah be pleased with her) so that he could ask her about the hadith which she had narrated to him (Marwan). Lady Busrah (may Allah be pleased with her) replied by mentioning the same hadith which Marwan had narrated to me from her.
