Hadith 7808

Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that I asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about sudden death. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Such a death is a source of comfort for the believer and a cause of Allah's wrath for the wicked.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Since a believer adopts such a way of life that he is always prepared for death, sudden death becomes a means of mercy for him, as he was engaged in good deeds in a state of health and well-being when Allah Ta'ala called him to Himself. Imam Ghazali rahimahullah said: For the one who was prepared for death, this death is a means of relief, and for the one who was not prepared, it is a burden. (Ihya’ ‘Ulum) Imam Nawawi rahimahullah said: Sudden death is a relief for those who fear Allah. (Tahdhib)
